Bharatnatyam was once a part of hereditary dancers of lower caste communities. Now co-opted by Brahmin communities and performed with rigid guidelines.
Childhood books showcased Sudha Chandran as a disabled dancer who made great stride in making a mark in the community with her dance skills, which stood as inspiration.
